About Morning Bloom
Morning Bloom was painted on a cool September morning in Sarah's home studio in Stowe, Vermont. Working from both life study and memory of her garden beds, she built up the composition in traditional loose watercolor washes, allowing the natural blooms — cosmos, wild asters, and late-summer dahlias — to emerge through layers of transparent pigment applied to 140lb cold press Arches paper.
The painting captures that particular quality of morning light — soft, diffused, and golden — that exists for only a few precious minutes before the day's business begins. Sarah intended the piece as an invitation to slow down and notice the fleeting beauty that surrounds us every day. Each original is signed on the front lower-right and dated on the reverse, along with a short handwritten note about the painting's inspiration.
